The Black Thai Pepper is a medium heat variety that does not have the intense upfront burn of other Thai chile types. The peppers are about 4 to 5 inches in length and a quarter inch in width. They ripen from green to an almost dark black color but if left on the plant will transition to a brilliant dark red. Can be grown as an ornamental in your garden but these also have a nice degree of peppery sweetness to them as well! They are ideal for stir fry or can be used to season meats, stews and soups.
